Dr. Daniel Bonis was born in Austin, TX and grew up in Long Beach, CA since he was 1 year old. He attended undergraduate studies at California State University Long Beach. Dr. Bonis graduated USC Medical School with Honors 1991. He completed Anesthesiology Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center with additional qualifications in Pain Medicine in 1995. By 1999 Dr. Bonis became Chair, Dept. of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Los Alamitos Medical Center, Los Alamitos, CA. He was a founding member and Medical Director of Los Alamitos Surgery Center from 2000 to 2002. Dr. Bonis left Alamitos Anesthesia Medical Group in 2006 to become Chairman and CEO of Coastline Anesthesia and Pain Management Group which provided anesthesia and pain medicine services at Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, CA and Coast Plaza Doctors Hospital in Norwalk, CA from 2006 to 2013. Dr. Bonis also became a Clinical Instructor and Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the USC/Keck School of Medicine, his alma mater, from 2011 to 2014 where he developed and taught new techniques in life-saving airway management during complex surgical procedures. Dr. Bonis left USC to join Alamogordo Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine early this year to pursue full-time Pain Medicine in the greater southern New Mexico area. Dr. Bonis’ outside interests include astrophotography, surfing, camping/fishing, and snowboarding. Dr. Bonis is the proud father of three children, the eldest of which recently graduated USC School of Cinematic Arts and is pursuing film/cinematography in Hollywood, CA with Director Peter Zemeckis.
